In the world of shipping and logistics, an address is more than just a piece of master data: its accuracy directly impacts operational planning, the efficiency of pickups and deliveries, and the quality of service provided to customers.
This need led to the development of beOneGeocoding, the functionality integrated into beOne that leverages Google Maps Platform to make address capture and management simpler, more accurate, and more reliable. During data entry, users can search directly for companies and addresses and use the selected result to automatically populate sender and recipient information.
The result? Less manual data entry, more accurate addresses, and geographic information that can be immediately used in logistics processes, also thanks to the extensive and constantly updated data provided by Google Maps Platform, with millions of updates every day.
With beOne Geocoding, each address is associated with its geographic coordinates, allowing the location to be identified, analyzed, and used across beOne processes.
The functionality can be applied to new records and data received via EDI, as well as to addresses already stored in customer and prospect master data.
Geocoding activities can be performed selectively by choosing records based on criteria such as type, category, country, or actual use in shipments. The system can also identify incorrect addresses and, whenever possible, suggest the correct information.
The address structure itself becomes more complete: postal code, city, and address are managed through dedicated fields, while a second address field can be used to enter additional information such as staircase, apartment, or unit number.
In this way, an address evolves from a simple text description into standardized, geographically identifiable information, ready to be used across a variety of business processes.
Having geographic coordinates integrated into beOne opens up new possibilities across different business areas.
In Operations, geolocation can support the optimization of Picking & Delivery routes and trip planning. In Sales and CRM, it makes it possible to identify customers located within a specific geographic radius and organize sales visits more efficiently. Coordinates can also be used to support statistical and geographic analyses using integrated mapping tools.
The same information captured during data entry can therefore be reused to organize a delivery, plan a trip, identify customers within a specific area, or analyze the geographic distribution of the business.
In addition, beOne supports territorial subdivisions according to the international ISO 3166 standard, with updates automatically available on the platform. Associating this information with addresses stored in the database makes it possible to perform analyses and generate statistics by country and territorial subdivision.
beOne Geocoding transforms an address from simple master data into an active element of the logistics process.
More accurate data means greater operational reliability, better planning capabilities, and more complete information to support both operational and commercial decision-making.
From data entry to shipment management, from pickup and delivery planning to sales activities and geographic analysis, location becomes a strategic component of business data.
Because in logistics, knowing where is about more than simply finding an address: it means turning location into business value.
