Freight Smart City for Malpensa Cargo

Starting October 1, 2024, it will be mandatory to transmit data on cargo departing from Milan Malpensa Airport to the Freight Smart City system.

It is therefore necessary to finalise the upgrade of their systems to ensure that the data flow is in the proper format. From October 1, in fact, handlers will operate with priority for those who have complied with the use of the new system. Those who will not have completed the alignment may face delays or penalties during cargo acceptance and unloading operations.

Furthermore, during this transitional phase, submission of paper documentation will still be required in order to enable comparison with digitally transmitted data and ensure successful integration between systems.

It should also be noted that failure to comply with the required formats will constitute a violation of the Airport Regulations, which are binding on all operators involved in activities within the airport. It is essential, therefore, to complete the required procedures to avoid operational penalties and possible future sanctions.

Leviahub will be exhibiting at Transpotec Logitec 2026 (May 13–16, Fiera Milano Rho). Come see what’s new and meet the team at booth B13 C14.
