Since 1 January 2025, the freight transport sector has been facing a profound change: the obligation to calculate CO₂ emissions has become a binding rule for most of logistics companies, in accordance with the new European corporate sustainability directive.
Companies can no longer limit themselves to estimating or managing this data with non-compliant tools (such as simple Excel files) but will have to calculate the carbon footprint with certified and standardised tools that guarantee transparency, traceability and verifiability of the data. The calculation of the carbon footprint therefore becomes an integral part of corporate governance and a fundamental requirement for maintaining competitiveness in the European market.
These obligations fall within the framework of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the enhancement of the EU ETS, key EU instruments for achieving climate neutrality by 2050. CO2rate is Leviahub's new digital tool designed to integrate seamlessly with any company's management system.
CO2rate complies with all new regulations regarding the calculation of CO2 emissions: CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) 125/2024, Legislative Decree. 147/2024.
